Molōn labe! The Greek phrase Molōn labe, meaning "Come and take them", is an expression of defiance reported by King Leonidas in response to the Persian army's demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae. It's modern equivalent is, "I'll give you my gun when you take it from my cold, dead hands!" |
